Dont let your molehill become a mountain suggests the CAB

The Citizens Advice Bureau in the UK is suggesting that many may leave it too late to rein in their spending. They have concerns that many will wait until debts have built up from a molehill and have become a huge mountain before they realise they need to take debt advice

There are always ways to pay off debts rather than hiding your head in the sand and hoping that a miracle will happen such as winning the jackpot on the lottery. One of the best ways to find out what your options are if you are in debt is to seek the help and advice of a debt management team on the best way to write debt off.

An IVA may be a suitable choice for becoming free of debts in a certain amount of time. You may be able to pay one monthly sum of money to your debt management team who then makes sure it is spread amongst your creditors. Within the period of the IVA, you will have paid off your debts and during this time, your creditors will not be bothering you by sending out letters. You could also look into a debt management plan, consolidation loan or bankruptcy, however bankruptcy should be considered as the last resort
